Mystery straps on my 2001 Wellcraft 22 Coastal

I recently bought a 2001 Wellcraft 22 Coastal and I'm hoping to get your help figuring out what the 2 black straps on the transom panel might be for. They're mounted right in front of the engine, with 4 small holes in a square layout above them. It looks like something was removed by the previous owner, but I'm just not sure what. Maybe a fold-down seat or a storage bracket? I'd really appreciate hearing from other Wellcraft Boat owners who might have some insight!

The seat back is a cushion that attaches to the four holes you mentioned, and the bottom is a hinged seat that drops down. It's a pretty common setup on a lot of Wellcraft boats from that era. You can usually find a replacement cushion online or get a marine canvas shop to make you a new one. Glad that got cleared up for you but hey, if it makes you feel any better, that's actually a pretty common mystery on those older Wellcrafts. Cooler there is honestly a great move until you decide if you even miss the seat.
