1975 Wellcraft 16' Center Console need info on HIN and capacity plate

I've got a 1975 Wellcraft 16-foot center console (serial # WEL05555M70G). Does anyone have details about this model? Also, I need to figure out how to get an HIN plate and a gross capacity plate. I reached out to Wellcraft, but they couldn't assist me. Any info would really help!

You can either create a metal plate or etch the HIN on the starboard aft above or below the rub rail. Finding capacity plates is more difficult,consider looking at a salvage yard. Examine obscure areas, such as the stern or console.

My best advice is to contact your local DMV or boating authority, they can assist you on getting a replacement HIN and capacity plate. You'll need to show proof of ownership or have it inspected. If you know the specs, you can also get custom plates made through marine supply shops.

Chasing down original HIN and capacity plates for a 1975 Wellcraft is a waste of time. At this age, just fabricate replicas to legal specs and move on. Nobody's checking authenticity unless you're in a strict state or selling commercially
