Yamaha 200 OX66 compression normal or trouble?

I just bought a 2004 Wellcraft with a Yamaha 200 OX66 engine. I checked the compression, and all the cylinders are at 85 psi. Is that normal for this engine, or should I be getting ready for some major repairs soon? If anyone has one of these, what kind of numbers are you getting?

85 PSI isn't ideal but it isn't a total disaster either especially if they're all even.
My buddy's got one that runs forever at 90 PSI.
That's probably the normal wear and tear for an engine that old.
Just keep an eye on your oil and gas usage.
If it's starting fine and running strong, you might get plenty more seasons out of it.
I suggest you just start thinking of a rebuild if it starts losing power or getting smoky!

85 psi is a bit low but not necessarily a disaster. Yamaha 200s usually run around 110-130 psi, so keep an eye on it, but don't panic just yet

Hey @WellcraftSkipper, any update on this? The most important thing is that they’re all even, which is a good sign on those OX66 motors. 85 is on the low side compared to fresh numbers, but plenty of them keep running a long time there if it starts easy, idles clean, and isn’t burning oil.
